If you’re an adventure lover looking for the perfect vehicle to help you conquer trails and rugged terrain, you should consider one of the impressive Kia off-roaders.

Kia’s off-road lineup includes the compact Seltos and Sportage, each with seating for five passengers. The Sorento and Telluride have three rows of seating, so you can bring along up to seven additional passengers.

Each of these models is available with all-wheel drive and has a flexible cargo area with folding rear seats and a dual-level cargo floor. Downhill Brake Control is also standard on every model, which limits your speed to 5 mph as you head downhill, so you can focus on steering.

Seltos

Although the Seltos is the smallest of Kia’s off-road vehicles, it has an impressive 26.6 cubic feet of cargo space and plenty of passenger room. Adventure enthusiasts will want to choose the X-Line trim, which comes with a 195-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and Torque-Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with a center-locking differential. The X-Line also includes front and rear skid plates to protect the Seltos’s underbody and high-utility roof rails for carrying large items.

Sportage

The Sportage features best-in-class cargo space of 39.6 cubic feet, so you can carry plenty of gear inside the cabin. Under the hood, the Sportage has a 187-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, and it can tow up to 2,500 pounds with trailer brakes. Its X-Line AWD trim comes ready for adventure with all-wheel drive, high-utility roof rails, and an increased 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Two available X-Pro trim levels add all-terrain tires, a heated windshield, and multi-terrain drive modes.

Sorento

The Sorento is available in a variety of configurations, with a choice of seating for six or seven and two available engines. The entry-level engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces 191 horsepower and tows 2,000 pounds. If you choose one of the adventurous X-Line or X-Pro trim levels, however, you’ll enjoy a 281-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.

The six-passenger X-Line and X-Pro trims come with high-utility roof rails, an increased 8.2 inches of ground clearance, and Torque-Vectoring All-Wheel Drive. The X-Pro also includes all-terrain tires and a 4,500-pound towing capacity. Every Sorento has 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to 75.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Telluride

The largest Kia off-road vehicle is the Telluride, with seating for seven or eight and 21 cubic feet of cargo space. It’s powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine with 291 horsepower, and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Its 10 available trims include three X-Line trims with seating for seven, all-wheel drive, and high-utility roof rails.
