The 2025 Kia Seltos is an affordable 5-passenger subcompact SUV with plenty of style, space, and highly desirable standard features even in the base model. It offers such great value that it earned a top ten spot on Car and Driver’s Best Subcompact SUVs list.

Comfort and Convenience

The cabin is very roomy, offering over 41 inches of legroom in the front row and 38 inches in the back seats. A dual-level cargo floor provides more cargo space than many comparable models. Projector beam headlights, a day/night rearview mirror, and rear AC vents help make road trips more comfortable for everyone.

Standard privacy glass helps boost your AC system by reducing heat buildup inside the cabin. It also provides privacy for the cargo area and back seat. Sound-absorbing windshield glass reduces wind noise penetration when traveling at higher speeds.

Responsive Handling

The line’s three lower trims have a standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 146 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The top two trims have a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder delivering 195 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard in these trims. The base model and top two trims have torque-vectoring all-wheel drive with a center-locking differential. The second and third trims have standard front-wheel drive with AWD available.

All models have three selectable drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport. Hill Start Assist Control and Downhill Brake Control are included. The remote engine start feature is standard beginning with the second-level trim and allows you to pre-heat or pre-cool your Seltos before entering it.

Infotainment

There’s no reason a subcompact has to be boring, and the 2024 Seltos brings all the fun features you’d find in far larger or more expensive SUVs. A 6-speaker sound system is standard in all but the top trim, which has an 8-speaker Bose Premium Audio System with a Sound Connected Mood Lamp. SiriusXM satellite radio is also standard, starting with the still very budget-friendly second-tier S trim.

The base model has an 8-inch touchscreen, and all other trims have a 10.25-inch display. This trim has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a USB media port in the front, and two USB-C charging ports in the second row. All trims have Bluetooth connectivity for multiple devices and can schedule maintenance reminders using the Kia Access App.

Advanced Protection

For a small vehicle, the 2024 Seltos packs a lot of standard safety and driver’s aid features even in the lowest LX trim, such as:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian, Cyclist, and Car Detection
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Lane Following Assist
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Rear Occupant Alert
  • Rearview Monitor
  • High Beam Assist
